Blackwood Football Club

Established in 1912, the Blackwood Australian Rules Football Club has witnessed significant changes in its 100 year history. To celebrate its historic milestone the club ‘upgraded’ its facilities in 2012 to include a modern Fielders Centenary attached verandah that has provided a unique atmosphere at the Blackwood Hill Oval. The facility provides patrons protection from the cold and wet Adelaide Hills winter months, while rejuvenating the facade of the club’s facility.

The structure comprises a skillion ‘flat’ roof with a combination of corrugated steel and polycarbonate sheeting to provide a balance of shelter while harnessing sufficient ambient light to the clubrooms and undercover area. The post and supporting frame is finished in Pitch Black, while the roof sheeting is double sided Vanilla. The superior strength and engineering of the Fielders structure is evidenced by the minimal number of posts required to support the structure providing uninterrupted views of the oval.
